Kendall Wilcox, Executive Producer of The Generations Project gave us a sneak peek at what we can look forward to in Season 2 of the popular family history themed TV series in episode 102 of the Genealogy Gems Podcast. Though he had hopes of an early 2011 debut, BYUTV has been going through some changes lately and that put a temporary hold on things. However, our patience will be rewarded on March 28, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. MST (check your local listings) as episode 1 of season 2 hits the airwaves.
The first story is a compelling one. Xander and Carrie Denke, whose twin boys were saved from a genetic disease by an anonymous bone-marrow donor, set out to test the relationship between genetic and genealogical ancestry while searching for the disease in their own family histories. "While genealogists and geneticists compare their heritage and DNA with the donor's, their search for child mortalities in their family trees takes them as far away from their Seattle home as 19th century Denmark."
In addition to a new season, they are also bringing new goodies to the website. Check it out at http://www.byutv.org/thegenerationsproject/ where you can read their new blog, watch past episodes and even apply to be on the show!
